Know Livedeen Better

To educate, coach, and inspire individuals to enjoy a meaningful life

LiveDeen aims to connect you to the Deen of Allah, and to His people. Together in this quest for Jannah, we hope to help one another stay firm on the Book of Allah. Our audience is diverse, belonging to different strata of the Pakistani community be it Muslim or Non-Muslim.

I wish I could discuss my questions about Islam, but everyone seems so judging…”

“I have tried learning about Islam, but I feel so out of place. Where to begin?”

“Is there any way I could learn about Islam in simple English?”

Some dilemma, isn’t it? But Allah promises:

And We will make it easy for you (to follow) the simple (Path). (Quran, 87: 8)

A group of like-minded individuals got together and decided to address this issue. It seemed as if our problem stemmed from the unconventional way that we had been brought up; we know English better than Urdu, and we are somewhat persistent in getting answers to our queries.

The brothers came up with a brand-new initiative – why don’t we connect the scholars of Islam in the West to the Muslims in Pakistan? These scholars would not only be able to understand our issues, but they will also be able to offer the best solution! Thus, LiveDeen was born.

Initially, we had live (through the medium of video conferencing) lectures, and sometimes in-person talks only in Karachi. Now, we have scholars flying in to Pakistan to conduct their talks, and LiveDeen has expanded to Lahore.
The sessions are usually conducted quarterly, along with one annual day-long conference with several speakers. These emaan boosting sessions also connect you to other souls, offer wisdom and reminders, and impart knowledge. There is so much more to do as a community.
Our audience has also become more diverse. Pakistanis have found their solution, Alhamdulillah (all praise and thanks be to Allah).

“I would love to learn about Islam, but I just can’t seem to ‘connect’ with it!”

“Is there any way to learn about Islam without such difficult Urdu words??”

“I wish I could discuss my questions about Islam with someone who understands where I’m coming from”

Do you feel a ‘disconnect’ with our Deen

Do the above sentiments sound familiar? Well, join the club!
The fact is that there is a growing community of sincere Muslims in Karachi who love their Deen and want to learn more about it, but just can’t!

The Reasons:

No. 1 – Language
We speak English! We’ve grown up in an English speaking environment, studied in English-medium schools, and have English speaking friends. So… it’s a big challenge for us to learn about Islam in Urdu!

No. 2 – Culture
We’ve grown up in a completely different culture, with things like PS3’s, Instant Messaging, Starbucks, The Simpsons, online shopping, Facebook, video conferencing, and cable TV. We want to learn our Deen from someone who understands our background.
The Solution: Connect with LiveDeen.com

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Deen cannot be sold.
And may Allah protect us from being the ones who ever even contemplate it! We only request a small sum to facilitate learning. Our predecessors would spend any and all material wealth that they could spare, just to get to that precious bit of knowledge; why can we spend on all but Allah’s Deen..?

2. Why should we come when we can watch the lecture on the internet?
A. First, the content may not be the same. Second, sitting together for discussion has added barakah; it unlocks knowledge and answers questions like no other. Third, the talks organised by LiveDeen now feature speakers flying in from abroad. Fourth, the scribes of hadith would travel for days, cross oceans in order to get to a single bit of hadith; why don’t we put in our share too?

3. How can the simplicity of Islam be portrayed in a luxurious hotel?
The hotel is a mere medium, with good parking, security and ambience. The important thing is acquiring knowledge, and the hotel facilitates us in acquiring that precious knowledge of the Deen, Alhamdulillah.
